Prove & Trees for all

Part of caring responsibly for Prove Engineering is caring for the environment we operate in and being aware of our actions’ impact on that environment. Last month, the intergovernmental panel on climate change IPCC issued their 6th assessment report. It painted a grim outlook of global warming developing at an increasing rate, leading to more extreme weather and frequent extreme weather events.

Being the science rooted engineers we are, we recognise that global warming is an undeniable fact of modern life and that its worldwide impact is increasingly apparent. Still, our own contributions to these effects in the form of CO2-emissions from travelling between our homes and our clients’ sites have been left an inconvenient truth for far too long. Rather than waiting for the powers that be to take the initiative, we have decided to proactively start compensating all carbon emissions caused by Prove Engineering professional travelling – which is pretty much the only source of our CO2-emissions – as of January 1st 2021 through proportional contributions to certified global reforestation projects. To help us, we’ve partnered up with Trees for All (www.treesforall.nl) to calculate our collective emissions and to manage the reforestation process on our behalf. We have committed ourselves to this partnership for at least 2 years.
